No person may be appointed as an external director if such person is a relative of a controlling shareholder or if such person, a relative, partner or employer of such person, or anyone to whom such person is directly or indirectly subordinate, or any entity under such person’s control, has or had, on or within the two years preceding the date of such person’s appointment to serve as an external director, any affiliation with the company to whose board of directors the external director is proposed to be appointed, with any controlling shareholder of the company, with a relative of such controlling shareholder, or with any entity controlled, on the date of such appointment or within the preceding two years, by the company or by a controlling shareholder of the company. The total RNA was isolated from BMSCs incubated for 3 days using the Trizol reagent (Invitrogen). Approximately 2–5 μg of total RNA were converted to cDNA by using the Super Script First Strand Synthesis kit (Invitrogen). The real time-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reactions were performed using the QuantiTect SYBR Green PCR kit (Toyobo, Osaka, Japan) and Applied Biosystems 7500 Real-time PCR Detection System.
